Today I noticed that my plants have been attacked by insects again. The leaves have that white patches of bugs and it started curling. New leaves are not healthy and I worry about cutting them off. It feels like cutting my own fingers.

Ever since I started taking care of plants, I have been observing that my patience has gone up a bit. I don't think the change is drastic enough to be observed by others. For the outside world, my impatience remains the same. But I know that I no longer lose control in certain situations which used to make me uncomfortable just a few months ago.

May be taking care of plants helps in a way nothing else works. You understand that you love your plants and you want to see them thriving. But there are no short cuts to help you achieve that. Whatever fertilizer you use, the plants take their own sweet time to produce a new leaf or flower. Sometimes even when you do everything right by the books the plants die or some horrid bugs attack the plants just when it is budded. It makes you embrace the uncerainties with open arms.

Whenever I see dried up leaves and start worrying, I remind myself to look for new shoots. One should not lose hope at all times.

Sometimes when I feel that there is no other way to save the plant, I let them die thinking that another plant will take up this pot and make it home. It is nature's way of teaching us about loss.

I looked at the infected plant once again. There is no point in worrying. I prepared the solution for getting rid of the harmful insects and sprayed it all over the plant. Tomorrow I will sprinkle fresh water across the leaves. One small step at a time against all the worries - that’s another lesson from plants.
