Like the zillions of others on the Internet, I have also taken many personality tests. Most of the time I got boxed into the INFP. When I read about the INFP traits, it was mentioned that we tend to write through our emotions. That was spot on. I have often wondered why I am not able to bring out any specific insight when I write about a subject. It is always as though insights do not exist for me as much as the feelings I have been through. I have struggled in vain to change that style. But that makes my writing lifeless.

With a bit of struggle, I have learned to accept that the emotional part of my writing is what gives my writing some liveliness. It is also the reason why some are able to connect to the way I write. I often let my emotions and intuitions guide me through the writing and that gives it a rawness that is difficult to imitate. Also when I write I am more honest because this is s sacred space for me. Here I come for catharsis, to forgive and to forget. Words are the truest and most intimate parts of me.

I am still writing to find my voice. It has been a struggle to find words for the battles that are going on in my mind. Some days it is easier to bleed through words and some days it is like an uphill climb. But I shall keep on trying.
